Welcome to Jeju Yale Campus website!

Jeju Yale Campus consists of Yale Success Leadership Academy, Yale Math Academy and Yale Foreign Language Academy (YFLA). It is located in Seogwipo city on the breathtaking southern coast of Jeju Island in Korea. It is one of the most reputable private academies in Jeju. It was established in 1989. Since then, it has contributed immensely to its local community primarily through English and math education.

The founder, Han Eun Song, is originally from Seogwipo, but had to leave the city for better educational opportunities in Seoul and the U.S. He determined to go back to his hometown to provide a high quality education so that young people would not have to leave this wonderful city. He and his wife, Jin Hee Cho, founded the first language academy after they returned from the United States. Since then, they have been committed to providing the best possible education and equipping students with the skills necessary to reach their dreams. Well over 10,000 students have studied at Yale under the good care of experienced teachers.

Teacher Testimonials

“Yale has a good standard of education which incorporates both online and classroom learning. There are set curricula from which to teach along with plenty of resources and the freedom to incorporate your own materials. Yale encourages good communication between Western and Korean co-teachers. The Korean employees speak English and went out of their way to provide any assistance needed. As Yale is a large academy with over a 20 year history, they are very organized when it comes to monthly salary. Pay was on time and accurate and any overtime incurred was automatically included. Yale kept to the contract, severance was paid and flights were booked on completion of the contract.
Jeju Island is an absolutely amazing place to live if you like the outdoors. The foreign community is small but close. What Jeju lacks in nightlife it makes up for in beaches, hiking trails and camp sites along with snorkeling and scuba diving. Overall working at Yale and living on Jeju Island was a fantastic experience.”

Michelle Strickland (2009-2011)

“Yale Foreign Language Academy is a very good school. Our directors are dedicated to providing the best possible EFL programs for our students at all levels. They are also interested in the well-being of their employers. Our teachers are encouraged to develop a professional approach to their work and provide their students with a high quality English education.  Our apartments are comfortable and well-furnished. Yale is a great place in which to work, and the quality of life here on Jeju Island is among the best you will find anywhere.”

Ron Noseworthy (2000-2011)

Yale offers children an excellent English education.  With a set curriculum and a plethora of materials created by both the administration and the many teachers that have come before, there are a lot of resources at your disposal, as well as room for your own creativity and embellishment.  The administration, staff and Korean co-teachers are all wonderful to work with.  Regular meetings with coworkers, semi-periodic staff lunches, as well as the annual Christmas staff dinner (in addition to the annual Halloween and Christmas Festivals for the kids) really add to a genuine sense of community here.  As for the island itself, it is exceptionally beautiful and, if you like the outdoors, is a great place to live.  There’s endless hiking, swimming, diving and exploring opportunities.  My time on Jeju has been invaluable to my growth as a teacher and to myself as an individual.
